I am new and just want to express my appreciation for your efforts. I just bought the Nikon 5700 (replacing the 5000) and your article was excellent. I had already decided to buy but your extra info(bag--its hotter in Tucson and adapter) was a bonus.
I am a Grand Canyon fan but the Utah rocks are just as good. Our son was married at-- what is it--Horse Thief Canyon near Moab and we love the Parks. Enough for now-- will watch and learn--thanks again.
Addendum:
Now that I have read some more of your site-- I was in error, I thought I was, it was probably Dead Horse Park. My guess is there is a Horse Thief Canyon also, but Dead Horse sounds right. |

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your new 5700. I still love mine as much as the day that I bought it - it's an incredible tool that lets me capture my red rock visions.
Heat is a real issue here in Moab during the summer. During that time of the year I carry a small hard shell iglo-type cooler in the back seat of my truck and drop my camera bag into it during my travels. Even getting out of the truck for 5 minutes can heat the vehicle up to amazing levels. I also always carry a can of compressed air in my vehicle just because I live in a sandy desert.
